Civil War Encampment February - 17, 2008

This President’s Day Weekend Knott’s Berry Farm will offer visitors the opportunity to step back in time as they become the site of a Civil War Encampment Saturday, February 16 (9am-5pm) and Sunday, February 17 (9am-3pm).  Over one hundred Civil War reenactors from the Richmond Howitzers Historical Association will fill Knott’s Park Pavilion area with the sites and sounds of an authentic Civil War camp.  Blue and Gray will come together to bring history to life with displays of authentic artillery pieces and Calvary equipment as well as demonstrations of period cooking, contra dances, infantry drills and special living history presentations throughout the day.  Visitors will be able to tour the camp, talk one on one with reenactors, and experience first hand what it was like to be a part of this critical event in our country’s history.
